In a landmark move to enhance personnel welfare and drive institutional reform, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun on Wednesday commissioned newly constructed police barracks and administrative facilities in Bompai and Zaria Road, Kano State.
The project, part of a broader welfare-focused reform agenda, aims to improve the living standards and morale of police officers across the country.
The infrastructure includes over 300 modern residential units, a 48-office administrative complex, a standard armoury, a transport workshop, POWA shops, places of worship, paved internal roads, and other essential support services—all designed to support a professional and mission-ready police force.
Speaking at the event, the IGP described the project as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to treating infrastructure as a driver of professional excellence and ensuring officers are dignified both on and off duty.
Egbetokun expressed gratitude to private sector stakeholders for their support and lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing police reform under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He affirmed that similar developments are underway nationwide, reinforcing the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to personnel welfare as a foundation for sustainable public safety and effective national security.
