“Upon interrogation, it was discovered that the motorcycles were intended for delivery to the Lakurawa terrorist group through one Alhaji of Kangiwa town, Arewa LGA, who is currently at large,” SP Abubakar disclosed.
He further revealed that during investigations, one Mubarak Ladan (28) of Kamba approached the Divisional Police Officer, SP Bello Mohammed Lawal, with a ₦600,000 bribe to secure the release of the suspects.
He was immediately arrested, and the money recovered as an exhibit. The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, directed the State CID in Birnin Kebbi to intensify efforts to apprehend fleeing accomplices.
He commended the DPO Kamba and vigilantes for their professionalism and courage, describing their action as a model of visibility policing.
“CP Bello Sani has also urged other DPOs across Kebbi State to emulate the Kamba division, as the Command remains unwavering in dismantling criminal networks threatening peace and economic activities along the state’s borders,” Abubakar added.
