A yet-to-be-identified man narrowly escaped being lynched by a mob on Saturday morning in the Igando area of Lagos after he was allegedly caught cooking a strange mixture of human faeces, palm oil, and seasoning.
Eyewitnesses said the man, believed to be a wheelbarrow pusher who had been operating in the area for some time, was sighted by residents preparing the suspicious substance in an open spot before he was accosted by an angry crowd.
The situation reportedly turned violent as residents attempted to mob him before Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operatives on patrol intervened and rescued the suspect.
He was subsequently handed over to the Igando Police Division for further investigation.
Residents expressed shock and concern over the man’s action, wondering what the strange concoction was meant for.
