The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated 60 bulletproof vests, 60 ballistic helmets, and a refurbished power bike to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to boost security operations and enhance personnel safety across Lagos State.
The Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, presented the operational equipment to the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Shola Jejeloye, on Wednesday at the squad’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunsan said the donation formed part of the Trust Fund’s sustained support for security agencies in Lagos State to strengthen operational capacity and improve crime-fighting efficiency.
He noted that the LSSTF remains committed to providing critical logistics and equipment needed by security agencies to effectively protect lives and property across the state.
According to him, the Fund will continue to collaborate with security formations to ensure officers are adequately equipped to respond to emerging security challenges.
Receiving the items, Jejeloye expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for what he described as timely and consistent support to the Rapid Response Squad.
He said the protective gear would significantly enhance officers’ safety, confidence, and operational readiness during emergency response and anti-crime operations.
“We are deeply grateful to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for this generous support and for consistently standing with security agencies in Lagos State. These ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests will go a long way in enhancing the safety and operational readiness of our officers in the discharge of their duties,” Jejeloye said.
The RRS commander assured residents that the squad would remain committed to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property across Lagos State.
