Widows and other vulnerable members of the Lagos community are set to benefit from an empowerment and welfare outreach being organised by the Grace and Hope Child Care Foundation on October 1.
The programme, tagged “Outreach for Widows,” will take place at Ayetoro Primary School, Akoka, Lagos, under the theme, “Sharing Hope, Nourishing Lives, Building Stronger Communities.”
The foundation said the outreach is part of its commitment to supporting vulnerable people, strengthening families and promoting community development.
It said the programme will focus on education, empowerment, food support, care and welfare, as well as community outreach.
According to the foundation, the education component will promote access to knowledge and opportunities, while the empowerment initiative will provide skills to help beneficiaries become more self-reliant.
It said the food support component will address immediate nutritional needs, while the care and welfare segment will provide assistance to vulnerable groups.
The foundation added that the community outreach will promote solidarity and encourage collective support for people facing difficult circumstances. The initiative is being organised under the foundation’s broader vision, “Caring Today, Building a Brighter Tomorrow.”
The foundation said the programme reflects its commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable people and creating opportunities that can contribute to stronger communities.
It also drew inspiration for the outreach from the biblical injunction in Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.”
The foundation said its message for the programme, “People, Communities, Brighter Future,” reflects its focus on reaching people, touching lives, creating opportunities and building a brighter future.
