A total of 260 beneficiaries across Lagos State have received financial grants and farming inputs under the 2025 Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme (RHI-ASP), launched by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
The programme, an initiative of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (CON), aims to empower citizens through agriculture and reinforce the nation’s drive for food security.
At the official launch held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Dr. Sanwo-Olu disclosed that 200 beneficiaries under the Women and Youth Agricultural Support components were each awarded ₦200,000, alongside essential starter packs to enhance their farming activities. An additional 60 participants received ₦100,000 under the Every Home A Garden (EHAG) initiative to promote backyard gardening.
Beneficiaries were selected through an open registration process that covered all three senatorial districts in the state.
Beyond financial empowerment, the First Lady also announced the induction of over 120 secondary school students into the second phase of the Young Farmers Club (YFC 2.0), with participants receiving full farming kits and seed supplies.
According to her, the initiative is a key pillar of the Renewed Hope vision, ensuring that Lagos residents—especially women, youth, and students—are not only lifted economically but are also active contributors to the state’s agricultural sustainability.
Immediate disbursement of funds during the event reflected the programme’s transparency and commitment to real-time impact.
