The Lagos State Government has completed the first phase of the Ogudu/Ifako Bridge rehabilitation, inbound Alapere, in just 39 days — an impressive 11 days ahead of the original 50-day schedule.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in the state’s drive for infrastructural renewal and improved urban mobility.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon Sola Giwa, commended the patience, cooperation, and civic responsibility demonstrated by Lagos residents during the project.
He also lauded the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers for their tireless efforts in maintaining traffic flow and ensuring safety throughout the rehabilitation works.
With the project now moving into its second phase, Giwa urged road users to comply with designated alternative routes and remain patient.
He emphasised that the Ogudu/Ifako Bridge, upon completion, will greatly enhance transportation efficiency, bolster public safety, and stimulate socio-economic growth across the state.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering durable infrastructure that strengthens Lagos’s economic backbone.
