President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday depart Abuja on a multi-state visit to Borno, Bauchi and Lagos States, as part of his official and private engagements.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President’s first stop will be Borno State, where he is scheduled to commission several projects executed by the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum, in collaboration with the Federal Government.
Onanuga disclosed that President Tinubu will also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor and Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who will be joined in matrimony with Hadiza Kam Salem.
“While in Borno, the President will commission key projects undertaken by the Zulum administration and the Federal Government, and thereafter attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff,” Onanuga said.
From Maiduguri, the President will proceed to Bauchi State to commiserate with the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the late respected Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27.
According to Onanuga, the condolence visit underscores President Tinubu’s respect for the cleric’s immense spiritual influence and lifelong contributions to Islamic scholarship and national unity.
After the condolence visit, President Tinubu will travel to Lagos State, where he will spend the end-of-year holidays.
Onanuga added that the President is expected to be the Guest of Honour at the Eyo Festival slated for December 27, among several other engagements in the state.
“The Eyo Festival, scheduled to hold at the Tafawa Balewa Square, will honour notable personalities, including the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, former Lagos State governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola,” he said.
