The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has reopened all public parks under its management across Lagos State following the completion of routine maintenance and upgrade works.

This was disclosed in a statement shared on the official facebook page of the state government on Tuesday.

The parks were temporarily shut between January 12 and January 31, 2026, to allow for landscaping, repairs of facilities and general upgrades necessitated by increased usage during the festive season.

The statement said popular recreational centres, including Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa (JJT Park), and Dr. Finnih Abayomi Park, Oregun, as well as other LASPARK-managed parks across the state, are now fully accessible to residents and visitors.

LASPARK explained that “the maintenance exercise was carried out to preserve the safety, cleanliness and overall ambience of the parks, ensuring they remain serene and functional green spaces for relaxation, recreation and wellness”.

The agency, while welcoming Lagosians back to the refreshed parks, appealed to members of the public to take collective responsibility for the upkeep of the facilities by using park amenities responsibly, avoiding littering and safeguarding public assets.

It stressed that the protection of public parks is a shared civic duty, noting that such spaces are critical to environmental sustainability, community wellbeing and the overall quality of life in the state.

LASPARK reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining vibrant, clean and accessible green spaces that enhance urban living and promote healthy lifestyles across Lagos State
