Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday had a closed-door meeting of about 30 minutes with the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, amid rising political tension in Oyo State.
Fayose on Sunday claimed that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was allegedly planning to dethrone the monarch, as well as controversies surrounding an alleged impeachment against Makinde by the state House of Assembly, which was said to involve the traditional institution.
Palace sources said that Fayose arrived the palace and briefly told journalists that, “I am in Ibadan to identify with the traditional institution. The truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed.”
Sources further hinted that the private meeting with the monarch was to discuss the situation and explore possible avenues for peaceful resolution of the crisis.
