Popular singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has been drawn into fresh controversy following allegations by Ayo Labinjoh, who claims to be the mother of one of his children.

In a statement posted on her Instagram page, Labinjoh accused Davido’s father, Dr Deji Adeleke, of intimidation, manipulation and bullying, alleging that he used her sister to monitor her activities.

Labinjoh claimed that her sister, Titi Labinjoh, had allegedly been in contact with Dr Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic and had been supplying information about her to the Adeleke family.

“To my shock, my own sister, Titi Labinjoh, has been talking to Dr Deji Adeleke since the pandemic,” she wrote, alleging that her sister had been receiving money from Dr Adeleke’s camp.

According to Labinjoh, Titi, who she said helped raise her alongside their mother, had been communicating with the Adeleke family since 2020 and once contacted their mother out of concern over media attention surrounding Anu, the child she claims Davido fathered.

Expressing pain over the alleged betrayal, Labinjoh cited a biblical passage, Matthew 10:36, and described the situation as deeply hurtful.

She also accused Dr Adeleke of attempting to intimidate her, declaring in her post: “You cannot intimidate us, sir.”

Labinjoh challenged Dr Adeleke to publicly release the DNA test results he referenced, questioning the credibility of the tests and accusing him of hiding behind his wealth and influence.

She further alleged that members of the Adeleke camp had been monitoring her social media activity and using it against her, while denying claims that she was seeking financial support.

“I am a trader. I take care of my daughter. I don’t need your money,” she stated.

The mother-of-one also criticised Davido, describing him as “a boy and not a man” for allegedly relying on his father’s influence. She claimed she had not seen the singer since 2013 and that her daughter, Anu, has never met him.

Labinjoh concluded her statement by issuing a warning, holding Dr Adeleke responsible for any harm that may come to her, her daughter or her mother.

“If anything happens to me, my daughter and my mum, the police should hold you responsible,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Dr Deji Adeleke, in a video released on Wednesday, reiterated that Davido is not the father of the child, insisting that multiple DNA tests had been conducted and returned negative results.
