The Enugu State Police Command has recorded fresh operational successes in its sustained fight against crime, with the arrest of four armed robbery suspects and the recovery of three firearms in separate incidents across the state.
Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed in a statement that the operations, carried out under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Giwa, demonstrated the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and swift response to distress calls.
According to Ndukwe, on 17th March 2025 at about 11:40 p.m., operatives attached to Ikirike Division and the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad arrested one Okechukwu Anthony (25), who attempted to rob a male victim of a smart wristwatch along Agbani Road. A locally fabricated pistol resembling a Beretta was recovered from him.
In a related development, at about 3:15 p.m. the same day, operatives of the 9th Mile Division, with the support of vigilant citizens, arrested two suspects—Chukwudi Stephen Ngwu (36) and Chibuike Ohaekelem (23)—during an armed robbery along Uzo-Nwa Money, Ngwo, in Udi LGA.
A locally fabricated pistol and a bag of rice were recovered, while one accomplice escaped.
Earlier, on 15th September 2025 at about 4:10 a.m., operatives of Ogui Division arrested Oluchukwu Stanley (29) after he attempted to rob a resident in Ogui-Nike, Enugu.
He was subdued with the help of the victim and law-abiding citizens, while a locally made pistol was recovered.
Ndukwe confirmed that the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
Commending the operatives for their swift actions, CP Giwa reassured residents of the Command’s determination to rid Enugu State of criminal elements.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
