The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has inaugurated a high-level committee to review and harmonise the Scheme of Service and Conditions of Service for officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Inauguration, held on 12 August 2025 at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, is aimed at modernising the administrative and operational framework of the Force in line with national public service standards and the Police Act.
The 10-member committee, chaired by Assistant Inspector-General Nemi Iwo, comprises senior officers from various specialisations and a representative of the Police Service Commission.
According to the IGP, the committee’s mandate includes engaging key stakeholders such as the Police Service Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, and Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, and submitting a harmonised draft within two weeks.
He stressed that the initiative underscores the Force’s commitment to professional development, improved welfare, and enhanced capacity to tackle modern security challenges.
