Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the redeployment of Mr. Adetola, Muyiwa John, as the new Accountant-General of the state and Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office (STO).
The appointment follows the statutory retirement of the outgoing Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Abiodun Muritala.
According to an official circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Adetola was redeployed from the Office of the State Auditor-General, where he previously served as State Auditor-General, to assume leadership of the State Treasury Office. The circular stated that the redeployment takes immediate effect from Monday, March 2, 2026.
The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, congratulated the new Accountant-General and urged public servants and relevant stakeholders to extend full cooperation to facilitate a seamless transition.
Agoro also called for wide circulation of the directive to ensure compliance and administrative continuity within the state’s financial management framework.
The redeployment, officials say, is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to sustain efficiency, accountability and institutional stability in public financial administration.
