The operatives of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested a suspected vandal and an ex – convict for allegedly destroying protective mesh guiding the median on Alfred Riwane Road, Ikoyi and for stealing a friend bicycle on Friday morning.
The suspects, Mohammed Ibraheem (25) and Segun Akinola (30) were arrested between 1: 30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. respectively.Mohammed, according to a post shared on RRS facebook handle on Sunday, was arrested on Alfred Riwane Road Ikoyi for vandalizing protective mesh for road median.
Mohammed’s accomplice, the agency reported escaped the scene on seeing the police.
“Same day, and at about 2:00 a.m. another patrol team on Third Mainland Bridge arrested Segun Akinola, 30 years old and ex-convict.
“According to Akinola, “I woke up pass 12:00 a.m. and I stole my friend’s bicycle. I am riding it to Ondo State.” His confession shocked the operatives. “ The news read in part.
It added “They drove him to Muslim Road, Banana Island, Lagos where the team met his friend still sleeping (2:27 a.m.) in a Bus Stop. He confirmed Akinola stole his bicycle.Both Mohammed and Akinola have been arraigned in court. The bike would be returned to its owner once prosecution is completed.”
