Popular Nigerian musician, Teniola Akpata, has donated ten modern hospital beds and bed stands to General Hospital Isolo, Lagos, in a gesture aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and giving back to the community.
The donation was facilitated in partnership with Mama Joy under the Mamuda Group of Companies, where the artiste serves as a brand ambassador.
The presentation took place on Friday, January 9, 2026, according to a statement posted on the hospital’s official social media platforms by Patricia Mordi, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Isolo General Hospital.
Speaking during the presentation, Teniola recalled a deeply personal connection to the hospital, noting that her late father, Retired Brigadier-General Simeon Olaosebikan Apata, was rushed to General Hospital Isolo after he was shot by armed robbers and was later confirmed dead on January 8, 1995.
She explained that the donation was made in commemoration of her father’s death and as part of her desire to give back to society, particularly the Isolo community where he contributed to community service and development.
“We came with love and care for the well-being of our people,” the musician said, adding that the gesture reflects her father’s lifelong commitment to service.
Responding on behalf of the hospital, the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Saliu Oseni, expressed appreciation to Teniola and her team for the donation.
Dr Oseni described the gesture as commendable, noting that support from well-meaning individuals plays a vital role in improving healthcare services and caring for the less privileged.
