The Lagos State Police Command has announced the scheduled arraignment of a suspected notorious hired killer, Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, marking a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime in the state.
Akinwande, 44, is expected to appear before the Ebute-Meta Magistrate Court on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, to face charges related to a string of violent crimes allegedly committed across Mushin and neighbouring areas.
Described by the police as one of the most wanted individuals in Lagos in recent times, Akinwande is believed to be the mastermind behind numerous armed robberies, murders, kidnappings, and cult-related killings that have terrorized communities and disrupted public peace.
His arrest was made possible following a coordinated operation by the Police Tactical Squad, which tracked him to his hideout in the Agbado area of Ogun State after several failed attempts.
In a statement, the Lagos State Police Command emphasized that the arrest and forthcoming arraignment underscore its unwavering commitment to rooting out violent criminals and restoring law and order.
“This is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat crime and bring perpetrators of violence to justice,” the statement read.
“We urge residents to remain vigilant and continue to support law enforcement with credible information.
”The police further assured the public that Akinwande will face the full weight of the law, as investigations continue into his suspected links to multiple violent incidents across the state.
