The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media regarding the commencement of the 2025 police recruitment exercise, describing them as false, misleading, and the handiwork of fraudsters.
In a statement issued on Sunday, August 3rd, by the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC clarified that it has not begun any recruitment process and will duly follow established procedures when ready.
It urged prospective applicants to disregard any unofficial calls for application and to await formal announcements from the Commission.
“The Commission frowns at this consistent attempt to fraudulently confuse the public each time there are preparations for recruitment,” Ani stated, adding that such activities compromise the integrity of the recruitment process.
The PSC further called on security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book. It assured the public that the recruitment process, when launched, will be transparent and strictly governed by due process, warning fraudsters to desist or face legal consequences
