Operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have recovered a large cache of digital gadgets, including 32 iPhones, 38 other smart phones, and five laptops, during a routine patrol in Ikeja on Sunday morning of 5th October, 2025.
Confirming the incident, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adebisi Abimbola, the recovery followed the interception of two suspects near the Allen Roundabout, who, on sighting the police team, abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags and fled the scene around 5:30 a.m.
Sources confirmed that on inspection, the RRS operatives discovered 32 iPhones ranging from iPhone 6 to iPhone 15 models, alongside five laptops, 15 new Samsung Galaxy phones, 38 assorted smart phones including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor brands.
Other items recovered included smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, Sorapad, and several damaged phones.
The Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, said preliminary findings suggest that the gadgets were stolen from unknown locations around Ikeja. He urged members of the public who may have lost items matching the recovered descriptions to visit the RRS Headquarters, Alausa, with credible proof of ownership for verification and collection.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Moshood Jimoh, commended the RRS operatives for their vigilance and prompt action.
He reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, and swift response to emerging security threats across the state.
