Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, yesterday rescued 14 people from the rubbles of a collapsed three storey building at Oremeta Street, Ojodu, Lagos with many still believed to have been trapped.
Equal Right Restaurant and Bar disclosed in a press statement yesterday that about 30 staff and customers were in the restaurant when the building collapsed yesterday.
The building, according to LASEMA collapsed around 8:00 a.m. yesterday. The building housed the popular Equal Right Restaurant & Bar.
LASEMA in its preliminary report last night said that it rescued 12 people and recovered two bodies from the rubbles.
Eyewitnesses reported that the structure caved in without warning, sending shockwaves through the busy neighborhood.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and have since been working tirelessly to locate and rescue those believed to be trapped.
As at press time, authorities said they were still searching for those trapped in the rubbles.
