The Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy has said it will begin its annual Ministerial Press Briefing on May 11, providing citizens with an in-depth review of the administration’s projects, policies, and progress over the past years.

‎In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho on Saturday, the ministry said the month-long exercise would feature members of the Lagos State Executive Council presenting detailed accounts of stewardship under the Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat administration, highlighting achievements recorded across the various pillars of the THEMES+ Agenda.

‎Omotoso, said the annual briefing remained an important platform for public engagement, transparency and accountability in governance.

‎According to him, “The Ministerial Press Briefing provides an opportunity for Ministries, Departments and Agencies to present to Lagosians, in facts and figures, the achievements of the present administration across the developmental pillars of the THEMES+ Agenda.”

‎He added that the exercise would also enable citizens to gain better insight into ongoing efforts by the government to improve the welfare of residents and drive sustainable development across the state.

‎Omotoso noted that this year’s edition was particularly significant as it comes ahead of the general elections, giving the public the opportunity to assess the performance of the administration and understand its vision for a Greater Lagos.

‎“This engagement will enable Lagosians to appreciate the milestones recorded by the administration and also get an insight into plans aimed at building a more prosperous and inclusive Lagos,” he said.

‎The commissioner further stated that the media interaction underscored the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusive governance.

‎“The achievements of the administration remain a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and responsible governance,” Omotoso added.

‎He disclosed that all sessions of the Ministerial Press Briefing would be streamed live on the state government’s social media platforms to ensure wider public participation and access to information.
