Dr Adeolu Arogundade has officially assumed office as the new Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of General Hospital Isolo, succeeding Dr Saliu Oseni, who has been transferred to Gbagada General Hospital after nearly three years of service at the facility.
In a statement on Saturday by the hospital’s Public Affairs Officer, Mrs Patricia Mordi, Arogundade resumed duties following a handover ceremony held on May 8, 2026, at the hospital premises in Isolo.
Mordi said “until his appointment, Arogundade served as the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre.”
Speaking during the ceremony, the outgoing Medical Director, Dr Saliu Oseni, welcomed his successor and highlighted some of the milestones achieved during his tenure.
He also urged members of staff to extend maximum cooperation to the new helmsman to ensure continued growth and stability at the hospital.
In his remarks, Arogundade expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him by management and staff, pledging to consolidate on the achievements and legacy of his predecessor.
According to him, “If successive leaders continue to build on existing successes, General Hospital Isolo can become a major healthcare hub for patients across Africa.”
He also stressed the importance of teamwork and inclusiveness in achieving institutional goals.
“Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. My commitment is to work with everyone and harness our strengths to take the hospital to heights that we will all be proud of,” he said.
The new Medical Director further assured staff of his commitment to creating a conducive working environment that would enable them to deliver quality healthcare services to patients and other stakeholders.
Dr Arogundade holds a Master’s degree in Global eHealth from the University of Edinburgh and is the current President of the Society for Telemedicine and eHealth in Nigeria.
He is also a Trauma Room Physician and Dive Medical Professional, and has contributed to several national digital health initiatives, including the development of the National Digital Health Strategy Framework and related policy documents.
