Christian leaders in Lagos State have commenced grassroots mobilisation and voter sensitisation campaigns in support of President Bola Tinubu, Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The mobilisation meeting, organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, was held at the group’s headquarters in Lagos and attracted Christian leaders drawn from across the state.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director of Christian Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Dr Sam Ogedengbe, said the gathering was convened to coordinate support for the re-election of President Tinubu, the election of Dr Hamzat and other APC candidates.
According to him, the meeting also served as a platform to assign responsibilities to members across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to ensure effective grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
Ogedengbe explained that representatives were selected from each local government and LCDA and mandated to return to their churches and communities to encourage eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process.
He urged the coordinators to educate members of their congregations on the programmes and achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, which he said should form the basis for seeking renewed support at the polls.
As part of the meeting, local government coordinators were officially inaugurated to spearhead mobilisation efforts for President Tinubu, Dr Hamzat and other APC candidates in their respective areas.
The organisers expressed optimism that the grassroots mobilisation campaign would strengthen support for the party across Lagos State while encouraging greater voter participation during the elections.
