The Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Baale of Onilekere, High Chief Oluwatoyin Bajela-Oko-Osi.
In a condolence message, Dauda described the late traditional ruler as a dedicated community leader whose commitment to peace, unity and grassroots development left a lasting legacy in Onilekere and across Ikeja Local Government.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Onilekere community, the traditional institution and all residents mourning the revered monarch.
The council chairman prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the late Baale’s shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
Dauda also urged members of the community to honour the memory of the late Baale by upholding the values of peace, harmony and selfless service that he exemplified throughout his lifetime.
According to the family, the Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) for the late Baale was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the burial ground of Momodu Moshesa Onilekere Central Mosque, Onilekere, Cement Bus Stop, off Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos.
The chairman further prayed that Almighty Allah grants the family, friends and the entire Onilekere community the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
