The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Dauda, has presented the scorecard of his first 100 working days in office, describing the period as a deliberate, people-centred drive to restore public trust and strengthen grassroots governance.
Speaking during the presentation of the performance report, Dauda said the administration entered office with a clear conviction that governance must be transparent, accountable and tailored to the direct needs of residents.
“With profound gratitude to Almighty God, I am deeply honored to present the first one hundred working days of my administration,” he said. “This celebration is not merely a record of programmes and projects; it is a testament to our collective resolve to translate vision into reality and to give renewed meaning to public service at the grassroots level.”
Dauda noted that his administration’s achievements were anchored on the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, a development blueprint focused on Innovation, Knowledge, Empowerment, Justice and Accountability. He said the framework had guided strategic interventions across infrastructure renewal, education, primary healthcare, environmental sanitation, youth and women empowerment, security and community engagement.
“Our mission has been to bring Better Days to the good people of Ikeja by fostering a government that listens, understands, and acts decisively,” he said. “Every initiative documented in this compendium speaks to that mission, from our investments in social welfare and education to our efforts in strengthening local institutions and promoting inclusiveness.”
The chairman expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for providing developmental direction through the THEMES Plus Agenda and acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision as a source of inspiration for local governance efforts.
He also commended the vice chairman, the legislative arm, management team, career officers, community development associations, religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and residents of Ikeja for what he described as their continued encouragement and constructive engagement.
“Your trust, cooperation, and constructive feedback have been invaluable in steering the course of our administration during these foundational days,” he said.
Dauda stressed that the first 100 days represent both a “mirror of progress and a statement of intent,” adding that his administration remains committed to deepening development, enhancing service delivery and fostering a responsive, efficient local government system.
“I invite everyone to join us in this journey and witness the narrative of transformation that is unfolding in Ikeja,” he said. “Together, let us continue to uphold the ideals of good governance, community partnership, and Renewed Hope, for a greater Ikeja, a stronger Lagos, and a prosperous Nigeria.”
