The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its position as Nigeria’s safest and most attractive destination for investors, pledging continued commitment to peace, stability, and economic dynamism that drive both foreign and local investments.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Adebobo Oyekan-Ismaila, made this known while receiving members of Eko Club Atlanta on a courtesy visit to the Ministry on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Oyekan-Ismaila noted that the prevailing peace and security in Lagos have been major enablers of tourism growth, creative enterprise, and diaspora partnerships.
She cited the successful hosting of the E1 Lagos Grand Prix in October 2025 as evidence of Lagos’ growing reputation for world-class events.
“Lagos remains the safest and most secure State in Nigeria. There is peace across the city, and this continues to attract investors, tourists, and partners from around the world. We are proud of our collaboration with organisations like Eko Club Atlanta, whose humanitarian and cultural initiatives complement the government’s efforts to improve lives,” she said.
Oyekan-Ismaila reiterated the Ministry’s readiness to deepen collaboration with Eko Club Atlanta, particularly in humanitarian service, diaspora engagement, and cultural exchange that promote Lagos’ global image. She also affirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive sustainable development and reinforce Lagos as the true Centre of Excellence.
Responding to an appeal for the return of the historic Eyo Festival, the Permanent Secretary confirmed that the festival will hold before the end of the year, assuring that preparations are underway to ensure a colourful and well-organised celebration befitting Lagos’ cultural heritage.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Miss Damilola Ayinde-Marshal, Esq., commended Eko Club Atlanta for its commitment to community service and consistent support for government initiatives.
“Your dedication to service through medical missions and cultural projects reflects the true Lagos spirit. The government appreciates your contributions and looks forward to deeper collaborations that will further promote Lagos as Africa’s leading destination for tourism, culture, and innovation,” she said.
In his remarks, the President of Eko Club Atlanta, Hon. Deji Ajiboye, lauded the Lagos State Government for its visionary leadership and hospitality, adding that the club’s activities align with the government’s vision to enhance the welfare of residents.
“Through our medical missions and cultural engagements, we aim to bridge the gap between the diaspora and the people, ensuring that our contributions reflect the spirit of Lagos—service, progress, and unity,” Ajiboye stated.
The Chairperson of Eko Club Atlanta’s 2025 Medical Mission, Hon. Adewunmi Isiotan, disclosed that this year’s outreach benefited over 2,000 Lagosians through free medical consultations, dental and eye care, cancer screening, prescription glasses, and food distribution.
“Members from Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and New York contributed medications worth over $50,000 to support the State Government’s health and welfare initiatives. This is our way of giving back to the community,” she said.
She further pledged the club’s continued partnership with the Lagos State Government in advancing tourism, healthcare, and cultural development.
