The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, has been honoured with the “Traffic Management Chief Executive Officer of the Year 2025” award by Razornews Limited.

The award was presented on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, during the Inter-Agency Cooperation Awards & lecture held at Shoregate Hotel, G.R.A., Ikeja, Lagos.

The event brought together senior government officials, security agencies, corporate leaders and development experts to celebrate outstanding contributions to intergovernmental cooperation and effective public service delivery.

In a statement issued by Taofiq Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, LASTMA, the agency described the recognition as a testament to Bakare-Oki’s “visionary leadership and ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening operational discipline, service innovation and institutional synergy within Lagos State’s traffic management framework”.

According to Adebayo, the honour underscores the LASTMA boss’s “transformative stewardship and unwavering commitment to repositioning the Agency as a model of efficiency, professionalism and responsive public service.”

Reacting to the award, Bakare-Oki said it represents “a solemn call to deepen our pursuit of a traffic management architecture that is technology-driven, human-centric and globally benchmarked.”

He dedicated the laurel to LASTMA officers whose daily efforts, he said, “continue to safeguard mobility, catalyse economic productivity and build public trust across Lagos.”

Razornews Limited commended the LASTMA General Manager for his exceptional administrative acumen, strategic foresight and dedication to inter-agency collaboration, noting that his leadership has “set a new paradigm for harmonious institutional cooperation in the quest for a safer, smarter and more orderly Lagos.”

This year’s Inter-Agency Cooperation Awards & Lecture spotlighted the importance of collaborative governance in enhancing urban mobility, strengthening institutional partnership and advancing sustainable metropolitan development.

Adebayo added that the award would further inspire LASTMA to consolidate its commitment to professionalism, accountability and traffic enforcement, values aligned with the vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to build a 21st-century megacity anchored on orderliness, efficiency and collective responsibility.
