The Nigeria Police Force has disowned a fake signal circulating on social media directing prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on September 18, 2026, urging them to disregard the publication.
The fake signal directed recruits to report to police training institutions listed against their names and instructed them to appear at the venues with items including white canvas, white T-shirts, sportswear, blankets, torchlights, cutlasses, brooms and plates.
The Force, in a statement posted on its official social media handle on Wednesday, said the publication did not emanate from it and should not be relied upon by prospective recruits.
The Force said: “The Nigeria Police Force has observed a publication circulating on social media purportedly emanating from the Force, directing prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on 18th September 2026.”
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state that the said publication is not an official communication of the Force and should be disregarded,” the statement said.
It advised all prospective trainees to rely solely on information communicated through their respective recruitment portals and the official communication channels of the Nigeria Police Force for verified and authentic updates concerning the recruitment and training exercise.

The police also urged members of the public to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion or misleading prospective recruits.

The clarification is aimed at preventing prospective recruits from acting on the fake directive and relying on unverified information regarding the commencement of their training.
