The Nigeria Police Force has promoted its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
The promotion was recommended by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, according to police sources.
Hundeyin was appointed Force spokesperson in 2025 by IGP Egbetokun while serving as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), taking over from DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Since assuming office as FPRO, ACP Hundeyin has overseen the coordination of the Police Force’s public communications, including efforts aimed at improving information management, public engagement and the use of modern communication platforms.
Prior to his appointment as Force spokesperson, Hundeyin served in various public relations roles within the Nigeria Police Force. He worked as an administrative officer under former Force Public Relations Officer, DIG Frank Mba, and later served as Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2.
He was subsequently redeployed as the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command before moving to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
ACP Hundeyin holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
