Panic has gripped residents of the General Gas area of Ibadan following the abduction of Mrs. Ibukun Otesile, a mother of two and daughter of Reverend (Dr.) Lekan Babatunde, founder of Jesus Is King Ministries.
According to Newsmaker report, Mrs. Otesile was kidnapped around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, directly in front of her residence, according to information circulated by the family. Sources said the attackers struck with chilling precision, whisking her away before neighbours could raise an alarm.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, including how the assailants gained access and the route they escaped through. As of press time, no ransom demand has been confirmed.
The distraught family has appealed to the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and relevant civil society organisations to intensify search efforts and ensure her safe return. They also urged Nigerians to share credible information that could assist ongoing investigations.
The incident has further heightened concerns over the rising wave of kidnappings and violent crimes across parts of Oyo State, despite repeated assurances from security agencies of increased patrols and intelligence-driven operations.
Members of the public with useful information about the whereabouts of Mrs. Otesile are urged to contact the nearest police station or reach the Oyo State Police Command through official communication channels.
