President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Mr. Tolu Obamuroh, a distinguished Nigerian legal practitioner, on his elevation to the partnership of White & Case LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms headquartered in New York.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Obamuroh’s appointment as “a testament to Nigerian competence, resilience, and global excellence.”
Effective January 1, 2026, Tolu will serve as a Partner in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice in Paris, joining a select group of only three new partners globally in this practice area — and the only one based in the firm’s Paris office, which is among its 46 offices worldwide.
President Tinubu noted with pride that Tolu is the only Nigerian-qualified lawyer in this year’s global partner class, a reflection of professional excellence and national distinction.
He lauded Obamuroh’s stellar career representing sovereigns and major corporations in high-value, cross-border disputes across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
The President also acknowledged Tolu’s continued service to Nigeria, noting that “under the supervision of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, he remains a trusted adviser to the Government of Nigeria in several international matters.
”President Tinubu said Obamuroh’s elevation exemplifies the Renewed Hope vision of a Nigeria whose citizens excel globally through merit, integrity, and dedication.“
Tolu’s success represents the best of Nigeria’s new generation of professionals who continue to distinguish themselves on the world stage,” Onanuga quoted the President as saying.
The President joined Tolu’s family, friends, colleagues, and the wider legal community in celebrating the milestone, urging young Nigerians to draw inspiration from his journey, which demonstrates that with commitment and service, they can lead globally in their chosen fields.
