President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, holding on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu described the prestigious title as a mark of honour and recognition of Sambo’s outstanding service to the nation and his community.
According to the President, the title of Sardaunan Zazzau—a position of great cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeria—reflects the Emirate’s confidence in the former Vice President’s wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to societal progress.
“The conferment of this title on the former Vice President is a recognition of his exemplary leadership, humility, and dedication to humanity,” the President was quoted as saying.
President Tinubu commended the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the noble tradition of honouring distinguished personalities whose values align with the Emirate’s ideals of unity, service, and integrity.
He also urged Namadi Sambo to continue to serve as an inspiration to the younger generation, working in partnership with traditional and community leaders to foster peace, unity, and development across the country.
“The President wishes the former Vice President continued success in his new traditional role and urges him to remain a beacon of leadership and patriotism to Nigerians,” Onanuga added.
