Ahead of the resumption of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise on Saturday, the Lagos State Government has announced plans to implement a controlled enforcement across the state.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on Friday during a press briefing at his office.
He explained that while there will be a temporary restriction of movement for persons and vehicles, individuals on essential duties, including health workers, journalists, and students sitting for examinations, will be allowed to move freely.
Wahab stated that the restriction will be in effect between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
The commissioner urged residents to take advantage of the exercise to clean their surroundings, emphasizing that compliance is key to maintaining a healthier and more sustainable environment.
He reiterated that movement during the stipulated hours would be limited, except for those engaged in essential services.
