The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commended the Force Procurement Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Adedeji Akeem, for his outstanding commitment to nation-building and selfless service to humanity.
The commendation followed the recognition of DCP Akeem’s excellence at the Sultan Maccido Institute for Leadership, Peace and Development, University of Abuja, where he was honoured alongside other distinguished Nigerians.
For the past five years, Akeem has delivered lectures pro bono at the Institute, generously offering his knowledge and expertise without financial reward. His sacrifice, described as a true embodiment of patriotism, earned him accolades from the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mathew Adamu, who lauded his consistency and passion for giving back to society.
Adamu emphasized that contributions such as Akeem’s cannot be quantified in monetary terms, noting that they carry immense value for national development and should be celebrated.
In his remarks, Akeem expressed gratitude to the University for the recognition and reaffirmed his dedication to humanity. He also donated copies of his authored books to support the institution’s academic programmes.
Meanwhile, Egbetokun charged officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to emulate the shining example of Akeem by embracing professionalism, discipline, and excellence in service.
