The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced ₦8,561,013.67 as the official fare for intending pilgrims from Lagos State participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The Board’s Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Officer, Taofeek Lawal, on Sunday.
He explained that the fare aligns with the general Hajj fares earlier announced by the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman, who confirmed ₦8.56m for Southern States, ₦8.24m for other Northern States, and ₦8.11m for pilgrims from Maiduguri/Yola zone.
Ajomagberin urged intending pilgrims, especially those who have made part-payments, to complete their payments on or before the new deadline of December 31, 2025, stressing that the State has provided the option of installment payments in three tranches through bank drafts.
On the 2026 Ramadan Umrah, the Board also fixed ₦5.7m as the lowest package for pilgrims wishing to observe the lesser pilgrimage in Makkah and Madinah, with options available based on affordability.
He assured that the Lagos State Government will continue to ensure a conducive and rewarding spiritual atmosphere for pilgrims during both the Hajj and Umrah exercises.
