The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of sales of forms and payment of the initial deposit for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
According to the Board’s Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, the Hajj form will cost ₦20,000, while the initial deposit for the pilgrimage is ₦8.5 million, pending the conclusion of contract negotiations with service providers.
Ajomagberin, in a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Taofeek Lawal, explained that the amount aligns with the official rate announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) during a post-Hajj strategic meeting in Abuja.
He disclosed that the Board has introduced a flexible three-installment payment plan to ease the financial burden and encourage more Muslims to participate in the spiritual exercise.
He stressed that payments must be made only via bank draft payable to the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and submitted to its Accounts Department for official receipts.
Ajomagberin assured that the State Government is committed to providing a comfortable and spiritually fulfilling experience for pilgrims, including quality accommodation near the Haram in Makkah and Madinah, daily local delicacies, medical care, Ziyarah to historical sites, and spiritual counseling — all in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda on citizens’ welfare.
