The Lagos State Government, through the Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), has sealed off Divine Grace Plaza, located at 36 Ajiran-Agungi Road, Agungi, Eti-Osa, for discharging untreated wastewater into public drains and the surrounding environment.
The enforcement, which took place on Friday, October 10, 2025, followed the facility’s violation of environmental regulations and deliberate pollution of the public drainage system — a practice officials described as hazardous to public health and the environment.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed the action on his official X handle, @tokunbo_wahab, said the government would continue to clamp down on individuals and establishments that endanger the environment through unlawful practices.
“The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office today sealed Divine Grace Plaza, Agungi, for deliberate discharge of untreated wastewater into public drains and the environment, thereby causing public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life,” Wahab stated.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a clean, safe and sustainable environment in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Cleaner Lagos agenda.
Residents and businesses were also urged to adopt proper wastewater treatment and disposal methods to avoid sanctions, as the state intensifies its environmental compliance and enforcement drive.
