The Lagos State Government and its key development partner, Sterling One Foundation, have announced that the 2024 edition of the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) generated over $100 million in investment commitments, with expectations set even higher for the 2025 edition, which is scheduled to hold from July 10–11 at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This was disclosed during a joint press conference on Monday to announce the Lagos Investment Summit 2.0 and Africa Social Impact Summit 2025, where officials revealed that over 5,000 participants — including policymakers, investors, global stakeholders, and development partners — are expected to converge in Lagos to accelerate enterprise growth, climate action, and infrastructure development.
Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose, stated that the twin summits mark a strategic shift from policy dialogue to practical, high-impact delivery.
“The theme of this year’s Lagos Investment Summit 2.0 — ‘Scaling Action: Bold Solutions Towards Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy’ — reflects our unwavering commitment to moving from dialogue to delivery, from potential to performance,” Ambrose said.
“The Lagos Investors Summit is more than a meeting. It is a catalytic platform to bring together visionary investors and stakeholders to forge partnerships that will unlock financing, deepen enterprise development, and drive digital innovation,” she added.
She highlighted that key sectors of interest at the summit include civil infrastructure, transportation, technology, green energy, creative economy, real estate, blue economy, and agribusiness.
According to Ambrose, a central feature of the summit will be the Deal Rooms, where Lagos State’s high-impact investment opportunities will be pitched directly to investors.
These sessions will be led by political appointees and senior officials from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).“The Deal Rooms will provide one-on-one and matchmaking opportunities for serious investors to interact with government officials, global financiers, multilateral organisations, and leading business executives,” she explained.
Also speaking, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasized the state’s commitment to the United Nations’ Agenda 2030.
“We are here for SDG 17, which is about partnerships. No single entity can achieve the SDGs alone. Everything Lagos is doing is designed to be done sustainably,” Finnih stated.Chief Executive Officer of Sterling One Foundation, Ms. Peju Ibekwe, reaffirmed the summit’s growing significance on the continent.
“The 2024 edition of ASIS unlocked over $100 million in investments. There’s no better time than now to accelerate those solutions to the next level.
The 2025 edition will scale action even further,” she said. With the ASIS 2025 themed “Scaling Action: Bold Solutions for Climate Resilience and Policy Innovation”, Lagos is positioning itself as a strategic hub for impact-oriented collaboration that supports Africa’s new development action plan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Ambrose further urged local and international investors to take advantage of Lagos’ unique value proposition.“Lagos is open for business. From smart city solutions and digital infrastructure to fintech and green energy, the investment opportunities within our borders are boundless,” she said.
The Lagos Investment Summit 2.0 will hold on Wednesday, July 9, followed immediately by ASIS 2025 on July 10–11, both at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island.
The events are expected to catalyze transformative partnerships and investment commitments that will shape the economic future of Lagos and Africa at large.
