The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has announced that the newly renovated Ndubuisi Kanu Park, located in Alausa, Ikeja, will soon be reopened to the public following the completion of extensive upgrade works.
The General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, disclosed this during a private Family Fun Fair recently hosted at the park.
The event, according to her, served as a test run to showcase the park’s improved facilities and serene atmosphere to selected members of the community.
Popoola stated that the renovation project has reached its final stages, with only polishing, planting, and fine-tuning of details remaining before the park is fully reopened.
She expressed satisfaction with the feedback received from visitors at the preview event, noting that guests were delighted with the upgraded features and looked forward to the park’s official reopening.
“The renovation works are practically completed. We are now focusing on final touches to ensure visitors enjoy an exceptional and memorable recreational experience,” Popoola said.
She added that the park now offers a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities designed to provide a wholesome experience for families, individuals, and groups.
Encouraging the public to anticipate the official reopening, the LASPARK General Manager assured residents that the agency remains committed to maintaining clean, green, and safe parks across Lagos.
Named after Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu, a former Military Administrator of Lagos State (1977–1978), the park is one of the city’s most popular leisure destinations managed by LASPARK.
It had been closed for over a year to allow for comprehensive renovation aimed at enhancing its aesthetics, upgrading amenities, and improving overall visitor experience.
