The Senate of Lagos State University (LASU) has approved the resumption of academic and social activities across all campuses effective Wednesday, 13th August 2025.
This decision follows the call-off of the industrial action by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Staff Unions after a productive meeting with Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on 7th August 2025.
In a statement, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Thomas-Onashile, Oluwayemisi, said students are expected to return to their hostels from Wednesday, 13th August 2025, while the 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations, earlier suspended, will commence on Monday, 18th August 2025.
She urged students to return promptly and prepare adequately for their examinations.It will be recalled that the Senate had on 2nd August 2025, suspended all academic and social activities in response to the industrial action declared by JAC on 31st July 2025.
