The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a China-based Nigerian businessman and two Angolan nationals who excreted a combined 236 wraps of cocaine after being apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The agency disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 15, 2026, by its Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, who detailed a string of interdictions across multiple states.
Babafemi said the 34-year-old businessman, Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulue, was arrested on Wednesday, February 4, while onboard a Qatar Airways flight from Kano to China via Abuja and Doha.
“Acting on credible intelligence, our operatives at the Abuja airport requested that the suspect be deboarded for a body scan, which confirmed ingestion of illicit drugs,” Babafemi said.
“He was thereafter placed under observation and excreted 52 pellets of cocaine with a total weight of 735.95 grams.”
According to the NDLEA spokesman, the suspect stated that he previously operated a business on Lagos Island before relocating to Guangzhou, China, in 2024.
In a related operation, NDLEA officers at Kano airport intercepted two Angolan nationals — Mbandu Martins Makiadi, 50, and Ngoma Wilson Fernando, 52 — during passenger clearance for an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Istanbul via Addis Ababa.
Babafemi said body scans confirmed that both men had ingested illicit substances.
“While Mbandu excreted 76 wraps of cocaine weighing 920 grams in seven excretions, Ngoma expelled 108 pellets weighing 1.33 kilograms in five excretions,” he stated.
He added that the suspects, who hail from Luanda, Angola, confessed that they were recruited by a spare parts dealer who promised to pay them $3,000 each upon successful delivery of the drugs in Turkey.
Meanwhile, in Edo State, five suspects were arrested at a forest camp in Ovia North East Local Government Area, where 563.5 kilograms of skunk were seized.
While commending officers across various commands for the seizures and arrests, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Mohamed Buba Marwa, urged them to sustain the momentum.
Babafemi quoted him as charging operatives “to remain steadfast in the agency’s balanced approach to drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction efforts across the country.”
