The new Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Ojikutu Olawale, has charged all staff of the Commission to be proactive, innovative, and solution-driven in the discharge of their duties to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and service delivery.

He gave the charge during a reception organised in his honour at the Commission’s headquarters, where he was warmly received by the Chairman, Mrs. Mopelola Peregrino, alongside Board Members, Directors, and staff of the Commission.

In a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Segun Adeoye, the TESCOM Chairman, Peregrino, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for finding Ojikutu worthy of the appointment, describing it as well deserved.

She congratulated the new Permanent Secretary and urged him to sustain the Commission’s long-standing culture of excellence and professionalism, while leveraging his experience to enhance service delivery.

“We are confident that Ojikutu will bring his wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to bear in implementing policies that will further strengthen the Commission’s operations,”Mrs. Peregrino was quoted as saying.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Morenike Famakin, described TESCOM as a family built on teamwork, innovation, and dedication to duty, assuring that the staff remain fully committed to supporting the new Permanent Secretary in achieving his mandate.

In his remarks, Ojikutu expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for the opportunity to serve and to the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, for his guidance and mentorship.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment, and I assure you that I will work tirelessly to move the Commission—and by extension, the Lagos State Government—forward, while building on the strong legacies of those before me,”Ojikutu said.

He commended the Commission’s leadership for its professionalism and pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve TESCOM’s objectives.

“I urge all staff to be proactive, creative, and solution-oriented. We must remain disciplined and uphold the highest standards of public service as we work together to take the Commission to an enviable height,”he added.

According to Adeoye, the event also featured the presentation of letters of appointment to newly recruited teachers in Lagos State, marking another milestone in the government’s effort to strengthen its teaching workforce.

The new Permanent Secretary was accompanied to the event by the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration, Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, top directors, and well-wishers
