The Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate, has confirmed that the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has officially suspended its warning strike following a resolution reached with the Federal Government.
Speaking with journalists on Friday after a closed-door meeting with the union leaders, Pate announced that both parties had arrived at a mutually acceptable agreement aimed at addressing the grievances of the nurses and midwives.
Although the union representatives declined to comment after the meeting, the minister assured the public that the strike had been called off and that normalcy would soon return to public health institutions across the country.
The industrial action, which began on July 29, 2025, followed the expiration of a 15-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government over unresolved welfare and professional demands.
