The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a comprehensive and practical blueprint for Nigeria’s transformation, aimed at unlocking measurable opportunities for prosperity across every sector of the economy.
Speaking on Thursday in Minna, Niger State, at the Conference of Commissioners for Information in APC States—organised by the Progressive Governors’ Forum—the Minister emphasized that the agenda goes beyond macroeconomic reforms and is directly impacting lives, businesses, and communities.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan,” Idris said. “It is about creating real and measurable opportunities for prosperity—for individuals, families, and communities.
“From youth empowerment to agricultural reforms, infrastructure investments, and social intervention schemes, the Tinubu administration is laying the foundation for inclusive growth and national renewal.”
He cited the removal of fuel subsidy as a bold but necessary decision that has freed critical resources for development.
“That singular act has not only averted fiscal collapse but has also enabled funding for legacy infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway, the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, the Kaduna-Kano Standard Gauge Railway, and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway,” he said.
The Minister revealed that over 900,000 small businesses have already benefitted from the Presidential Conditional Grant and Loan Scheme, while over 350,000 students are receiving support through the Students’ Loan Scheme, backed by a ₦70 billion commitment from the Federal Government.
He also referenced the ongoing Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline, which is expected to revive industries along the corridor and power a new phase of industrialization in the country.
Idris described the administration as youth-friendly, highlighting the inclusion of young professionals in the Federal Executive Council and across key government agencies.
He noted that ₦75 billion has been set aside through the Bank of Industry to support MSMEs and create sustainable jobs for the youth.
Urging state-level information managers to intensify citizen engagement, Idris said it was their duty to communicate federal policies effectively at the grassroots.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is keeping faith with Nigerians. You must now translate that faith into hope and action in your communities,” he charged.
The conference, hosted by the Niger State Government, brought together Commissioners for Information from all APC-led states to strengthen intergovernmental communication and align strategies for the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda nationwide.
