President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, as the founder of the Doyin Group of Companies marks his 90th birthday.
In a statement personally signed by the President, Tinubu described Prince Adedoyin as “an extraordinary industrialist, philanthropist, and national icon with decades of footprints in Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.”
Tinubu said the nonagenarian represents one of the finest examples of resilience, patriotism and entrepreneurial brilliance in the country.
“Baba Adedoyin stands as one of Nigeria’s finest examples of industry, resilience, and patriotic commitment. Through sheer determination, entrepreneurial brilliance, and integrity, he built enterprises that have contributed significantly to our economy and created opportunities for countless Nigerians,” the President said.
The President noted that Adedoyin’s journey—from arriving Lagos as a teenager from Agbamu, Kwara State, to becoming a towering figure in Nigeria’s industrial landscape—remains a story of faith, hard work and unwavering belief in the country’s promise.
“His life’s journey remains a shining testament to what is possible through faith, hard work, and an unwavering belief in the promise of our country,” Tinubu stated.
Beyond his business accomplishments, the President commended Adedoyin’s longstanding philanthropy and service to humanity.
“Baba Adedoyin’s kindness and philanthropy have touched many lives. His compassion for the vulnerable, his investment in education and community development, and his uplifting spirit have carved out a legacy that transcends generations,” he said.
Tinubu also reflected on his personal relationship with the industrialist.
“I have always enjoyed a close, pleasant and warm personal relationship with Baba Adedoyin. I admire his strength of character and fortitude in the face of adversity and personal loss,” the President added.
As the elder statesman joins the ranks of Nigeria’s nonagenarians, Tinubu prayed for continued strength and grace for him.
“As Baba Adedoyin marks this remarkable milestone, I celebrate his purposeful and impactful life as a cherished leader whose wisdom continues to enrich our society. I pray that the Almighty grants him continued grace, strength, peace, and joy in the years ahead,” the President said.
He wished the eminent industrialist a joyful celebration, adding: “Happy 90th Birthday, Baba!”
