President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his determination to sustain economic and political reforms, declaring that his government will not let Nigerians down despite ongoing challenges.
    ‎
‎Speaking on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, while receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, the President stressed that his administration remains focused on rebuilding the nation’s economic foundations and expanding opportunities for all citizens.
    ‎
‎“I will not let Nigerians down,” the President declared, assuring that the well-being of citizens remains the central focus of his administration.
    ‎
‎He noted that long-standing structural distortions hindering prosperity are being systematically addressed through ongoing reforms, aimed at repositioning the economy for broader participation and sustainable growth.
    ‎
‎According to him, “the more people participate in shaping their own lives and future, the better society we will have for generations to come,” urging members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation on government policies.
    ‎
‎Tinubu emphasised that his administration would continue to uphold democratic principles, including respect for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary.
    ‎
‎“We cannot submit to disobedience of lawful court orders. We must embrace the judiciary, whether its decisions favour us or not. That is the essence of democracy and nationhood that we must continue to build,” he said.
    ‎
‎The President also dismissed opposition criticisms, insisting that transformative leadership requires courage and resilience in the face of resistance.
    ‎
‎“They want to scare me off? It’s a lie. I have been through this before, and if I have to do it again, I will. There is no better place than our country, and no one else will build it for us,” he stated.
    ‎
‎Reiterating his vision for inclusive development, the President said his administration is committed to creating opportunities for young people and vulnerable groups, ensuring that every Nigerian has a stake in the nation’s future.
    ‎
‎He encouraged citizens not to be discouraged by misinformation, noting that “great nations are built by leaders and citizens who dare to think beyond the present and work towards a better tomorrow.”
    ‎
‎Turning to members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, President Tinubu pledged unwavering support for their activities.
    ‎
‎“You represent the conscience of a nation determined to break free from poverty, ignorance and hopelessness. I assure you, I will not give up,” he said.
    ‎
‎Earlier, Governor Hope Uzodimma said the delegation was at the State House to brief the President on the progress of the initiative, noting that structures had been established across local governments and wards nationwide.
    ‎
‎“Our purpose is to reaffirm that this structure is active, coordinated and already delivering measurable political and civic outcomes across the country,” he said, adding that mobilisation efforts have extended to markets, schools, professional groups and grassroots networks.
    ‎
‎Also speaking, former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, commended the President’s courage, describing him as a “dogged reformer” taking necessary but difficult decisions.
    ‎
‎“Reformers always face resistance at the beginning, especially in complex societies. But these are steps that previous leaders could not take, and Nigeria is already better for it,” Masari said.
    ‎
‎He further assured the President of strong political backing from leaders in the North-West, noting that stakeholders in the region remain committed to supporting ongoing reforms and deepening public awareness of government projects.
    ‎
‎The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, several serving governors, and key political stakeholders from across the country.
