The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against a social media influencer, Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as @justadetoun, over alleged cyberbullying and publication of false information against the Ogun State Government and the Governor of the state.

The charges are pending before the Abeokuta Division of the Federal High Court.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the charges were brought under relevant provisions of the Cybercrimes Act.

According to Babaseyi, investigations revealed that Onajobi, an internet blogger, had allegedly used various social media and internet-enabled platforms to publish false accusations and engage in online bullying targeted at the Ogun State Governor.

“On January 2, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command invited the suspect for an interview to enable her respond to allegations arising from her online activities,” Babaseyi said in a statement issued at the Command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday.

He explained that instead of honouring the invitation, the suspect, through her lawyer, claimed she was medically indisposed and unable to attend the meeting, attaching a medical report purportedly issued by a doctor.

“Discreet investigations by the Command, however, established that the medical report was false,” Babaseyi said.

He disclosed that the doctor who allegedly issued the report was arrested and later admitted that the document was fabricated at the direction of the suspect during a phone conversation facilitated by her lawyer.

Following the revelation, Babaseyi said the doctor was arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court on charges of conspiracy, uttering a false document and obstruction of justice.

The police spokesman added that Onajobi has remained evasive and has refused to honour subsequent police invitations, with her current whereabouts unknown.

“The Ogun State Police Command remains resolute in tackling all forms of crime, whether violent, white-collar or digital, while ensuring full respect for the constitutional rights of all persons,” Babaseyi stated.

He, however, noted that constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, including free speech, have lawful limits and do not confer immunity from criminal conduct.

Babaseyi said the Command was still trailing other suspects linked to the alleged dissemination of false information and would exhaust all lawful means to apprehend and produce the suspect before the court to answer the charges filed against her.
