The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has intensified enforcement against illegal parking across the state as part of efforts to improve traffic flow, promote orderly parking and ensure unrestricted access for motorists and other road users.
The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, said the renewed enforcement forms part of the agency’s commitment to ensuring compliance with parking regulations and maintaining order on Lagos roads.
The Head of Public Affairs, Divine Dunkwu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, July 24, 2026.
According to the statement, LASPA’s Monitoring and Enforcement Team recently carried out an operation along Akintoye Road by Ajeromi General Hospital in Apapa, where vehicles parked in designated “No Parking” zones were removed.
Adelabu explained that the enforcement exercise followed an extensive public enlightenment campaign and the installation of traffic and parking signages along the corridor to sensitise motorists.
“The enforcement focused on vehicles parked in designated ‘No Parking Zones’ and became necessary after an extensive public enlightenment campaign and the installation of road signages along the Akintoye Road corridor,” she said.
She noted that the operation was conducted peacefully and professionally in line with established procedures, adding that vehicles found violating parking regulations were towed where necessary.
“The exercise was carried out without disrupting public order, while vehicles found in violation of the parking regulations were attended to, with towing carried out where necessary,” Adelabu added.
The LASPA General Manager also expressed concern over the disappearance of one of the agency’s ‘No Parking’ signs installed along the corridor, describing the act as vandalism of public infrastructure.
She warned residents and motorists against tampering with or stealing government property, stressing that offenders would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Adelabu urged motorists to obey parking regulations, pay attention to traffic signs, use only designated parking spaces and cooperate with LASPA enforcement officers in the collective effort to keep Lagos roads orderly and free of obstruction.
