The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has declared that the massive solidarity walk by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ikeja was a vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President’s achievements have earned him overwhelming grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general election.
Addressing party supporters during the rally, Dauda said the procession, which attracted APC faithful from Ikeja, Onigbongbo and Ojodu, was organised to demonstrate the unwavering support of residents for the re-election of President Tinubu.
He said the event sent a clear message that the people of Ikeja appreciated the achievements of the Tinubu administration and remained committed to ensuring the President secures a second term in office.
According to AKOD, major Federal Government projects and policies, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan programme, local government autonomy, the prompt payment of local government allocations and the approval of a new salary structure for federal civil servants, are evidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda is yielding tangible benefits for Nigerians.
He also expressed confidence that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would extend the implementation of the new salary structure to state workers, adding that local government employees would equally benefit in due course.
The council chairman urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu by re-electing him for a second term. He also called on Lagos residents to rally behind Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State, saying the continuity of progressive leadership remains the surest path to greater development and shared prosperity.
