Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has declared his full support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President’s achievements in office have spoken volumes about his leadership capacity and commitment to national development.
Bello made this known on Saturday in Lokoja during a political rally held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, where both President Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo were endorsed for a second term ahead of the 2027 general election.
He described President Tinubu’s performance so far as “undeniable and commendable,” especially in stabilising Nigeria’s economy amid global economic challenges.
“Today, we are endorsing President Tinubu and Alhaji Ahmed Ododo for a second term. They have done well, and they are still doing well and will continue to do more for the state and the nation,” Bello said.
He added that Nigerians should be thankful for a leader committed to moving the country forward.“So far, we are having a stable economy, and Mr President will not relent in tackling any issue that affects his administration. Any merger against President Tinubu by the opposition will never work, it has failed already. Nobody can unseat Tinubu in 2027,” he declared.
Bello also urged Kogi residents to continue supporting Governor Ododo, assuring that his second term is “intact.”
In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Ododo promised to deliver 99 per cent of Kogi’s votes to President Tinubu in the 2027 election, stressing that the state remains firmly behind the President.
“Kogi belongs to President Tinubu. We will turn out in thousands to vote for him when the time comes,” Ododo said.The governor commended the President’s efforts in strengthening national security and appreciated him for granting federal appointments to Kogi indigenes.
Ododo also highlighted his administration’s achievements, including road construction across the state, establishment of primary healthcare centres, renovation of schools, and provision of potable water.
He assured residents that more developmental projects would be completed before the end of his first term.
Dignitaries at the event included Senator Smart Adeyemi, members of the National and State Assemblies, former Speaker Prince Matthew Kolawole, and several political leaders from across Kogi State.
